Connection!

We had a great bit of news this week -- we e-mailed the Office of International Studies and Programs (OISP) at Central, offering our services in regard to setting up a "friendship partner" program, where international students are matched up with homes in the community in an adopt-a-student fashion. The students don't live with the families, but the families arrange to get together with the students once or twice a month, and email weekly. Soon after sending the e-mail to the OISP, one of the directors in the department called and was very enthusiastic about getting something like this going. We talked over a few details, and agreed to stay in touch. Praise God!

National Conference 2006

ISI holds an staff conference each year, alternating the location from year to year between Colorado Springs, CO (where the home office is) and different metropolitan locations around the country. This year the conference is in Seattle! We're excited that our first year as volunteer staff includes a close-by meeting of like-minded ministry folk from all over the USA. As volunteer staff, we're not required to attend -- but since it is in our proverbial "backyard" we will be able to. The dates are June 24-28.
