Christmas Greetings

We are off to sunny Arizona tomorrow morning, for a few days of Holiday celebration with my side of the family. It will be a short trip for us, but we're all excited all the same (the kids especially, to fly on an airplane!).

The house mentioned in the previous post sold. That's okay! We know God has a place for us. We will likely wait until Spring to purchase, for a few of different reasons. It's hard to wait, sometimes, considering it's been more than a year since we had a "nest" of our own. My wife/mommy self longs for this again. Yet we see God moving in our hearts and lives in a powerful way, and wouldn't trade that for anything.

Out Of The Starting Gate

Neil and I have, for many years, been interested in putting forth a more concerted effort in ministering the love the Christ to the international students in our country. About six months ago we started emailing with Jeff Nelson, the Seattle area mobilizer for International Students, Inc. (a Christian organization that focuses on reaching out to internationals). Jeff came for dinner one night and we talked about various things in relation to this. We are going to be focusing on the campus at Green River Community College, in Auburn, where there are 400+ international students each year.

Yesterday, the missions committee at church had a meeting and Neil and I took part. We were able to share our vision for this, and received very positive response. I asked at one point if we could have a "slot" at the upcoming week-long missions conference, and we were given one on the closing Sunday evening. Yay! We are also going to have a table in the display area.

There is a house in the Green River area that we looked at last week; it's a great price for around here, although overpriced in my opinion because it needs a lot of work (new carpet, new roof, new paint, new windows). Waiting, we wait on this ... if we should move forward or not. We know God will open the right doors as we move into our purpose and passion!
